Here’s what you need to know:
The farmers

Many farmers and landowners want to
lease their land for wind energy,
creating a sustainable income stream and making the most of their property – all while providing millions of dollars in new revenue to the county.
The opposition

Organized opposition, led by a group called “Clinton and Jackson County Residents Against Wind Turbines”,
is pushing for extreme restrictions
that would make wind energy development impossible.
The restrictions

The Clinton County Board of Health has proposed noise limits so restrictive they
could “put every farmer out of business,”
warns County Supervisor Jim Irwin.

What's Next
What's at Stake
This isn’t just about wind energy—It’s about your property rights. Every farmer and landowner should have the freedom to use their land to support their family and livelihood. These restrictive regulations threaten that freedom and may even shut down their operations!
We support reasonable regulations that balance a neighbor’s concerns while protecting property rights.
The proposed regulations – especially the noise restriction – threaten those rights and could even be harmful to traditional farming.
